Relaxing Trip to Edinburgh, Scotland

So here it goes! My review of Edinburgh.

We had a wonderful time. We flew on Ryanair. Absolutely NO complaints… more like compliments. On our way back the rep asked us if we wanted to check in any bags for free. Say wha!?! YES! Ryanair allowed us to check in THREE bags for free. smile emoticon I love free. It definitely helped us out significantly. So we checked in three bags, three carseats (boosters) and our “pram” (stroller).

We stayed at Edinburgh Central Apartments and it very close to all of the action. Though we did take the buses everywhere and we also wallked. The apartment was great. We booked on Very easy to book. The apartment was a perfect size and manageable. The floors were creaky.. but the building was old. The kitchen had everything we needed! There were tons of restaurants, bars, grocery stores and even a movie theater (across the street). Now the queen bed wasn’t very comfy, but we managed by stacking the comforters on top. It is on a busy street and it is near a fire station, but you get used to it. Other than that it was great!

The sights we saw! Our Dynamic Earth was great! We bought the annual pass since it was just a few more pounds.. although we only went once. Camera Obscura and World of Illusions was amazing! The kids REALLY enjoyed this. I highly recommend it. Arthur’s Seat had a beautiful view of the city. Although we were not able to get up to the very top. We thought we were on the right trail but we weren’t. At the top of where we went there was a nice grassy area where we had a picnic. This was Dane’s pick of what to do. He had been asking for DAYS. There were several other places we wanted to check out, but we would always end up in other places. If you are looking for a park there is one at the foot of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. It is a VERY nice park.
